A new line is not required but I chose to replace the Z1 rebuilt high pressure line because that line was about 2" too long. I had it installed on my TT for 3 years and it worked but the extra length prevented it from being mounted in the holding brackets properly and the excess hose was hanging down beneath the crossmember.
I went with this hose so I could use the OEM mounting brackets and not have the hose exposed below the crossmember.
I was able to install the napa brand hose with a little bending and it fit in the factory mounting brackets just fine.
